| A Brief Note of the special Features of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the Wu-dang school |

| ABSTRACT Wu-dang is the name of a famous mountain in Hupei province, China. It had been the origin and the sacred place of worship activities of Taoism. Both functional respiratory excercise (Qi-gong) and martial arts (Wu-shu) were also founded herein. The latter was then respectively addressed as the "Wu-dang school" of martial arts, from which, the orthopaedics and traumatology of the same school was originated and was used over the years for the treatment of disorders of the musculoskel etal system following injury. This article sysmetically documented the characteristics and the developmental history of orthopaedics and traumatology of the "Wu-dang" school. |
