近年来现代化推动临床骨科学迅猛发展,派生出若干分支学科且都在蓬勃发展中,我国骨科学也源远流长,在其发展的历史长河中不仅融汇了中华民族的经验与智慧,也不乏有西方、阿拉伯、印度等古老与现代文明的相互渗透影响。在某种意义上讲应该是人类共有的财富。新中国成立后,特别是1958年以来,中西医结合在努力发掘祖国医药学这一伟大宝库的同时又动员了不少西医骨科精英运用现代医学的临床研究手段自主创新涌现出闭合复位小夹板局部外固定治疗骨折新疗法。
