从20世纪50年代中后期开始,以方先之、尚天裕为代表的中国骨科先驱将西方现代医学与中国传统接骨术相结合,探索、创立了中西医结合治疗骨折的新理论。其核心理论是:骨组织有强大的再生及塑形改造能力,治疗骨折时应该为患者创造有利条件,而不要伤上加伤,干扰和破坏骨组织的自身修复能力;强调血供对骨折愈合的重要性,不要对骨赖以生存的血运横加干扰和破坏。
