华中名峰武当山,座落在鄂西北均县境内,汉江以南,为大巴山脉东段分支,古人曾赞此山曰“山峦清秀、风景幽奇”,自周朝至今2500年来,一直是道教活动圣地,也是武当派气功、武术发源之地。传说真武大帝在此山修道成仙,余如周朝尹喜,汉代阴长生等均曾在此修炼。

A Brief Note of the special Features of Orthopaedics　and Traumatology of the Wu-dang school

Abstract:Wu-dang is the name of a famous mountain in Hupei province, China. It had been　the origin and the sacred place of worship activities of Taoism. Both functional respiratory excercise (Qi-gong) and martial arts (Wu-shu) were also founded herein. The latter was then respectively addressed as the "Wu-dang school" of martial arts, from which, the orthopaedics and traumatology of the same school was originated and was used over　the years for the treatment of disorders of the musculoskel etal system following injury. This article sysmetically documented the characteristics and the developmental history of　orthopaedics and traumatology of the "Wu-dang" school.
