| BOW-SHAPED SPLINT TRACTING EXTERNAL FIXATOR IN THE TREATMENT OF FRACTURE OF THE HAND-51 CASES (ABSTRACT) |

| ABSTRACT Fifty-one cases of fracture of the hand were treated by bow-shaped splint tracting external fixator since 1986. Theresults were all clinically healed within 3-4 weeks with ashortest fixation period of 17 days, the logest, 37 days. It is realized that the method can maintain the stress of joint capsule and keep lateral collateral ligaments in tension and facilitate the balance among the intrinsic and extrinsic muscles of the hand. It fits fresh close fracture of the hand and best results can be obtained in oblique, transverse, overlapping aversion fracture. |
